In winter, passion for finding perfect scallop shells wins over nearly frost-bitten fingers and a runny nose. Only if snow or ice has obliterated the shells from sight or if the wind has pummeled my nose-dripping, red-fingered self to the point of trembling do I leave. The patterns and colors of wet shells fade as they dry, but Polyurethane, as my partner pointed out as he handed me a can, restores the wet look. I love to wear a shell on a chain -- a shorter one set into a V-neck or a longer one over a turtle or crew neck shirt. What do you think of these creations?
